My name is Yulia Brodskaya, and I’m a renowned artist known for creating intricate artworks using folded strips of coloured paper—reimagining what painting can look like in the third dimension.

My work draws inspiration from nature, with birds and flowers as recurring motifs, and also includes expressive paper portraits, ranging from realistic to deeply symbolic. Regardless of the subject, paper lies at the very heart of my art. Over the years, I’ve developed new techniques that transform this humble material into a powerful medium capable of conveying profound meaning and uplifting emotion.

MODULE 1

This module is all about paper — we'll explore which types to use, how to cut them into strips, and how to organize them so they're ready for you to start creating.

MODULE 3

Learn the basics of creating three-dimensional brushstrokes with paper strips. Practice to build control over your folding and color mixing, and discover extra techniques to enrich your creative process.

MODULE 4

Learn the steps of the Painting with Paper method, focusing on achieving rich colour variation in your brushstrokes through the creation of a paper Sunflower.

MODULE 5

Discover additional ways to personalize and enrich your creative process through a detailed paper Toucan project.

MODULE 6

We’ll explore what comes after your artwork is complete, along with some tips on how to select your own references for future creations.
